Jumping in: Try-outs and Beginning of Semester Updates
We are excited to announce the Miami University Equestrian Team for the 2015-2016 Season! This year, we are excited to welcome 31 new members, and welcome back 65 returning members, for a total of 96 riders.
The links to the rosters can be found here:
Our returning members try-outs took place August 25th-28, and new members try-outs were August 31st-September 3rd.
We are looking forward to a great year getting to know our new members and can’t wait so see the great things they will accomplish in their time with MUET as we welcome them to our family.
The season may have just begun, but MUET has jumping right in.
Every year, MUET participates in a volunteering and community service initiative through Miami Club Sports. This program helps Club Sports uphold its core values and goals: Campus Visabiliy, Community Involvement, Professional Standards, Transformative Leadership, and Valued Results.
Last year, MUET won the Tradition of Excellence Award, an award given out to the clubs that go above and beyond to uphold these core values. Part of earning this award is participating in community service events, and over the course of the school year, MUET volunteers our time and service to help run events in both the Miami and Oxford communities.
The team wasted no time, and has already been volunteering.
Last week, we helped run a Blood Drive along with some other organizations on campus. We had 10 MUET volunteers help run the event, and 20 riders come to donate. Thank you to everyone who volunteered and gave blood for helping to make it a success!
This weekend, some of our riders will be volunteering at the Latin American Festival hosted in the uptown park on Friday, 9/18. Stop by for some delicious food, dancing, and fun!
We are also kicking off the show season with hosting the first ever Interscholastic Horse Show event. MUET helped school the horses and run the show along with our co-hosts from Autumn Rose Farm.
Keep checking back here for more updates on the teams progress as we enter show season and get involved in the community.
