The progress of Miami University Equestrian

Happy Holidays from MUET Coaches!

Happy Holidays from your MUET coaches!

It has been a great semester so far for the MUET equestrian team, and for alumni! We enjoyed seeing many of you at our Equestrian reunion in Columbus following the Miami Hunt Seat at Otterbein University and Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus.

We also had the good fortune to welcome back MUET alum Alexandra Ricca, ’06. Alex was recognized this year as one of The Miami University Alumni Association’s “18 of the Last 9” Honorees. This program recognizes alumni who have graduated in the last 9 years and have gone on to do exciting and groundbreaking things, often changing the world in the process. We are so excited for Alex, and thrilled she was able to spend time with us at the barn, touring the new facilities and seeing some of her old friends!

The University is currently fundraising for Phase II, which will provide an indoor riding arena to practice and learn in year-round (regardless of the weather!). Members of the Equestrian Team and students enrolled in classes will all be able to take advantage of the new facilities. This will allow additional opportunities such as enhanced course offerings, growth in community programming, and the ability to host events. The second phase of this project will include an indoor riding arena, classrooms, offices, viewing lounge, concession area, and locker room/rest rooms.

To support this initiative, please contact Michael Kumler, Director of Development at (kumlerme@MiamiOH.edu) or call 513-529-1957, or you may give online.
