The progress of Miami University Equestrian

Western at Wilmington

Our Western team kicked off the show season at Wilmington on September 18th. With only two weeks from the time the official roster was posted and this show, the team worked hard to prepare in record time. The team did an amazing job, and ended up Reserve Champion in both the AM and the PM Shows!

The team found an old Miami banner from the 70’s!

Not only did the team do great, but individuals had some amazing successes:

Hunter Ries won first in both of her Intermediate II classes!

Jordyn Garves placed 2nd in Intermediate II!

Colleen Ziegman placed 2nd in Intermediate II!

Alexandria Tong won her first ever IHSA Class in Intermediate I!

Sarah Kammer placed 2nd in Intermediate I!

Lauren Martyn placed 2nd the Open Reining!

Congratulations to all who competed!

The team had a great weekend, eating a team dinner at Werner’s barbecue in Wilmington. Gambler and Tonka also represented that MUET at the show and were great additions to the draws at the show.

Overall, it was a great weekend for the first show of the weekend! Congratulations to all riders!
